Readability- The app is easy to use, the meat comes out perfect every time! The temperature accuracy is precise. I like how small and compact this is. Functional and nicely made product. The speed and ease of use for this is the best we have ever used. Highly recommended!

I’ve had my MEATER Plus for about 9 months now and have used it more than 20 times with an outdoor propane grill. I highly recommend it – as long as you keep these tips in mind:1. Make sure you understand that there are two different wireless connections going on in normal operation: one between your phone and the base and one between the base and the probe. You can see this arrangement and the current status of each of the connections by going into the upper right menu of the main display of the app and choosing “Connection Details”. Sometimes, the phone will connect direct to the probe skipping the base station and resulting in a weaker connection. You can see if that happens on this screen. If it does, you can try removing and replacing the base’s battery or killing and restarting the phone app.2. There are two different batteries and battery levels involved. One in the base station (replaceable AAA) and one in the probe itself (non-replaceable rechargeable). Under Connection Details, the battery level reported there is for the probe. To see the battery level for the base station, tap on its icon to go to another screen which will show the base station’s battery level.3. The probe recharges its own battery when placed in the base station. This is accomplished by the two metal contacts that hold it in place. Over time, you might see a problem with the probe charging or its battery level being unexpectedly low. What was happening in my case is the connection between one of the base clips and the probe was not working well. After repeated cooks, grease had formed a coating on the top of the probe which was interfering with the corresponding electrical contact. You can take steel wool or very high grit sand paper and gently sand the surface until the coating is gone and the metal surface looks clean again.Once you have that information under your belt and put it to use, it works like a champ!

The Meater is the GREATEST! Helps me cook thick steaks, fish, chicken breasts to the exact internal temperature and perfection. So easy to use! I have bought 7 more and pass them on to my friends and family as I brag about how the Meater has helped me perfect my cooking skills. I definitely recommend this product for every home kitchen!

I was a dedicated Weber iGrill user for many years and was waiting for the day when someone would invent a decent wireless probe. The Meater is a terrific product, combining internal temperature and ambient temperature in one wireless probe.A couple items of note:1) You need to make sure you set up the Meater probe and open the app EXACTLY in the order in which the directions say. You can’t open the app first and then put the probe in the meat. You won’t get a connection. You need to put the probe in the meat first, determine you have a good connection, and THEN open the app. Not sure why this is so important to functionality, but I’m glad I discovered this before my first cook.2) The Meater probe has more girth than other wired probes, and before you break out the high school humor, here’s why that matters: For individual cuts of meat that are an inch thick or less (like if you’re grilling for yourself), it’s challenging to ensure you’ve inserted the probe in the center for an accurate temperature reading. This means you also have to watch that the ambient end of the probe isn’t angled too much where it might touch the grill grates.3) The Meater probe has a minimum insertion depth, and before you break out the high school jokes again, here’s why that matters: in order to insulate the transmitter inside the probe from getting too hot, you need to insert the probe at least 3 inches into the meat. For smaller cuts of meat, this can pose a challenge.4) The Meater transmitter box needs to be within 10 feet of the probe for it to work, which is fine, but the box isn’t weatherproof. So if your grill area doesn’t have a covered space for the transmitter box, you’ll need to put it in a container with a lid if you plan to cook in the elements such as rain or snow.5) The Meater app is super easy to install and navigate once you get your meat on the grill. It gives excellent visual representations for internal temp, target temp and ambient temp.6) Do NOT put the Meater probe in the dishwasher. It’s super easy to clean and takes 15 seconds to wash, dry and put back in the transmitter box to charge. The transmitter box is magnetic, so it sticks to the fridge or grill.Overall–great product, and I highly recommend it.

I Would Give This a Six Star If I Could!!!
Enough cannot be said about the unit and the app.My son has one and when I saw it demonstrated both my daughter’s boyfriend (who BBQs extensively) and I immediately bought one.The app is easy to use and is easily customizable to get the right temperature for a wide variety of foods. You can store your history and modify the results for the next cooking session.I had a minor problem with my history update and did a live chat within 10 seconds. The person could access my file and then immediately contacted their IT server staff. They looked into it and said my file would be updated shortly and VIOLA it was fixed. Great customer support. It makes cooking really fun watching the process either in your BBQ or oven. I even had a better appreciation of cooking meat to room temperature. Before I would take the meat out of the fridge about an hour before then not cook. NOT SO! I did that to a roast and when I put it in the oven and looked at the app I was shocked at how cold it was. My behavior added extra oven time that it did not have to do.I am enlightened.Do yourself a favour and get one. They do have an upgrade if you want to cook over open flame but my model is more than satisfactory.

Perfecto para asar de forma relajada
La app s muy fácil de usar. La probé con patas de pollo y salieron perfectos, sin tener que estimar cuando están o no listos.

It does what it should, and a good damn job at it!
I use my BBQ on a daily basis and have tested a lot of BBQ thermometers, and NONE delivers the quality that Meater does or the ease of use in the app.Is it expensive? Yes.Is it worth the price? Without a doubt.

    Meater review.
I know the Meater is expensive but on this occasion I believe I got what I payed for. The instructions and web support that come with the probe and are on the web are quite adequate. The probe was easy to pair with my phone and once that was done things were ready to move on. I put the probe in a large joint of pork, used the app to get the end result I wanted and a couple of hours or so later I finished up with a perfectly cooked pork joint. The meat can be cooked to any condition from rare to pulled and cooking and resting times are also advised. I don’t cook turkeys nowadays but the amount of consternation cooking one of those on Xmas day can cause is a good enough reason to buy one of these if ever there was one. The chances of ruining a roast with one of these, if used properly, are virtually insignificant and given the price of meat these days that can only be a good thing. The Meater is a well made piece of equipment and as far as I am concerned and I am glad I’ve got one!

    Genial
