LIKES: perfect angle for ripping weeds, very wide face, sharp teeth, gloves are a plus, comfortable grip. DISLIKES: none to report. Just be careful when ripping. If you feel resistance then stop pulling you may be stuck on a root and this tool is not for pulling up roots. HOW USING: Wonderfully enjoying taking care of my landscaped areas especially my vegetable garden that needs frequent weeding around plants. RECOMMENDATION: Yes. This is a great tool to use for large area weeding. I use a different tool to get into smaller areas, but this tool speeds up my weeding time so I can enjoy more pruning and planting. I recommend this to anyone that has a yard with landscaped areas.

The greenhouse in my backyard has a dirt floor with the plants in dirt instead of pots. Because of the current drought conditions and being unseasonably hot, I’m having to water the plants daily. This keeps the greenhouse humid and promotes rapid growth of nuisance weeds.I have been using a hoe on the weeds about every other day, but that isn’t getting out a lot of the roots.There is also a lot of dirt loosened with the hoe and the roots are often severed from the stems and covered with the loose dirt; therefore the weeds come back quickly.I tested this tool a bit when I received it earlier today see how effective it would be for getting the weeds (and roots) separated from the dirt. Amazingly it was extremely effective and also collected the weeds in the tines so I could discard them easily.The angle seems to be just right to do the job as intended. There is a flat extension opposite the tines which can help dig out stones and deep roots. The tool is extremely sturdy and durable, completely metal with a plastic handle. It appears to be rust-resistant and easily repels the dirt. Cleaning with a hose is a breeze–even though very little dirt sticks to the surface.I’m 70 years old and can’t bend over as well as I once did. One knee has been replaced, and the other one will likely “need” replacement within the year. I’ve been having to bend over completely to reach the weeds that I can remove from the dirt, but the severed roots were still there under the dirt. The problem was chronic and I was losing the battle.The handle is just over 13″, so I have to bend somewhat to use the tool. I’ll continue to use this because it keeps me from have to reach down all the way to pick up the weeds. It is also pulling out the roots instead of severing them with the hoe as before. Those weeds are caught in the tines of the tool, and separated from the dirt so I no longer have to bend down completely.The gloves which were included were too small for my large hands, but I thought that was a nice add-on. Those gloves seem to be rubber or plastic, so those won’t get dirty and wet inside as with traditional cloth or leather gloves. Wish those would have fit so I could comment further on that part of the package.If the handle was about twice as long, perhaps 24-26 inches, this would be perfect for my needs. All in all, this is really great for getting at those pesky weeds in the greenhouse. I’m looking forward to gaining some “ground” on this weed problem with this tool.

This is for light gardening only – in garden beds and things like that. Do not expect this to help you dig a weed or root out of normal compacted soil. But it’s nice for surface weeds and thatch. It’s a small hand tool, just over one foot long, so don’t expect this to be a standing tool. The gloves are a one-size-fits-all, up to approximately a mens large (which unfortunately is too small for me).

Nice little tool. Comes with gloves if needed. Strong and sturdy metal. I tried it on weeds already popping out in the container garden and it pulled them up with east. The way it’s shaped, you rake and then slide it backward to let the weeds come off the teeth. Very easy to use and will get into the small areas around your plants. You also get more control of weeding since it’s hand-held.

I recently cleared a large bed around a tree that was covered in woody grasses. This tool did it all.It worked great!The gloves are excellent too. They’re all waterproof unlike most other garden gloves that are only coated on the palm.Totally satisfied!
